High Performance, Economical Bar Code Label Printer
Value-Priced Printer
If you prefer an economical, metal-cased bar code printer, Zebra Technologies offers the Zebra 105S thermal transfer printer. The 105S printer can generate labels anywhere needed - for example, in steel mills where coils of metal need taggings, on shipping docks for receiving pallets, in sawmills for labeling lumber, in machinery plants to label parts or in warehouses where inventory labels are produced. No matter what your application needs, the Zebra 105S can generate a wide range of labels and run constantly without concern.

Fast Throughput for High Productivity
When your application calls for bar code labeling, the last thing you need is to wait for the label to print. The 105S printer produces the label almost instantly through very rapid formatting and printing. This is achieved through a combination of 32-bit processing and ZPL II® programming, offering the ability to format while printing. You print more labels in less time. All this, plus print speeds up to 6" (152mm) per second, make the Zebra 105S printer the ideal choice for fast, economical label throughput.

As with all Zebra products, you are ensured of compatibility. The 105S printer prints label formats prepared with easy-to-use ZPLII using the same instruction set as other popular Zebra printers. When ordering your new Zebra 105S printer , you will have the choice of two communications interfaces. If a high-speed serial connection is preferred, you can select the RS-232 serial interface that operates up to 19,200 BAUD. For parallel environments, a Centronics® parallel connection is available. This is a true parallel interface, not a converter, so you maintain rapid throughput speed.

Flexible Options Ensure Productivity
The 105S printer offers a number of options. If longer or graphically complex labels are required, an additional .5MB of RAM memory, for a total of 1MB, is available. A separate battery-backed memory option permanently stores graphics and formats for immediate access once the printer is powered on, eliminating the need to download files.

To address customer application requirements, the Zebra 105S printer has an optional internal rewind feature, unusual for a printer in this price range. This feature allows you to wind a full 8" (203mm) roll of labels within the printer so they remain free from dirt or dust. Once rewound, the labels are ready for mounting on label applicators.

When using the peel-off option, the backing rewind feature neatly stores a full roll of label backing within the printer for easy disposal.

Numerous Symbologies for Various Applications
Zebra provides the ability to print all popular bar code symbologies and supplies newer two-dimensional codes, such as PDF417, Maxicode and Code 49, as standard features. Whatever symbology you require, Zebra can fill your needs.

For printing UPC and EAN symbols, you can select an optional 152 dot-per-inch printhead (6 dots per mm).
